In Hong Kong, we are interested in supporting innovative social and human services that fill the gaps in a landscape where basic social services have been taken care of by the government and non-profits. 

 

ZeShan is now funding a pilot poverty alleviation project in Tin Shui Wai that aims at building up financial, social and psychological assets among female inhabitants of the area. The program, managed by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, provides job training for participants and encourages them to save up by matching their savings over a two-year period. It is hoped that through the program, participants will develop self-confidence and practical and personal financial planning skills that will enable them to work their way out of poverty.
